I am the same boat, got the approval email and a week later received the approval notice in the mail. Did not get welcome or CPO email. My approval notice says I MAY have to do biometrics again to get my PR card
and they will notify me about appearing for biometrics if required.
Dose your approval notice have a similar message?

At one end it is bad that USCIS moved back Nebraska Processing date to June 08 2007 (More than one month backword) but it looks like USCIS is preparing itself to kick EB3-India ahead... It is too early to say this confidently.. But my feeling is that USCIS will keep processing dates tied to June 2007 and will kick EB3-India ahead. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Though as per murthy's web site in May bulletin EB3-India dates will remain same, I am feeling that if my guess is correct then at least from June bulletin we will see 2 patterns 1) Nebraka processing date would not move ahead for some months or will

These restrictions generally last from a few months to a few years. Because signing such an agreement can severely restrict your future employment options, you (and your attorney) should review it closely before doing so.
Can you be fired for refusing to sign that non-compete agreement?
Yes, according to the Supreme Court of New Jersey. See Maw v. Advanced Clinical Communications, 179 N.J. 439 (2004).
Will a New Jersey court enforce your non-compete agreement?
Do not make the mistake of thinking that you can sign an agreement and ignore it later. New Jersey Courts routinely enforce non-compete agreements that are �reasonable� in scope. As per him, every non-compete agreement that is signed cannot be neccessarily enforced in the court of law. If the sole purpose is to avoid ordinary competition, it is unreasonable and unenforceable. If the agreement is ever challenged in court, the most important question, which will be posed from the Judge to the employer, is "What is the legitimate business purpose that is served by this non-compete agreement?"
Now as h1b employees, as every one knows we r not the key personnel in the company. we do not carry with us any trade secrets or confidential information which might harm their business.
AS per him the higher up the "food chain" an employee is at a company, the more willing courts are to enforce non-compete agreements. Upper level employees are typically exposed to more confidential, trade secret, strategic and other information that gives a company a competitive advantage in the market place. The lower down the food chain an employee is, the less likely a court is to enforce non-compete and non-solicitation terms.
Also non competes always have to give some profits to the employee, say a paid vacation, bonus or somethign like that. An employer cannot
just make the employee sign it to restrict him from making better living and not give anything in return....

I know you don't want us to use paypal - but I think that might be delaying lot of contributions.
Here is my case - I have a very hectic work schedule -so by the time I go home I forget to write and send a check. If I could do paypal then would be no problem as I can do from any where - work - from phone - anywhere.
Just a thought.. I have been planning to send $50 or so but kept on forgetting. Don't get me wrong but telling the truth here.

I would like to clarify a few things possibly misunderstood lately.
Firstly, IV core and all volunteers are fully aware and DO acknowledge that CIR, as we know today, is headed to its grave. Unless something new happens of political significance, all experts have ruled of reform before elections in November.
Secondly, IV core never has and never will bet on one bill. We have said that before and we say that again. CIR is not the only bill we are looking at for passing reforms that provide relief to legal hi-skills immigrants. We will look at the next opportunity to introduce our provisions in and are not going to sit around and wait for elections to come an go. And that means any bill. PACE, SKIL, immigration related, competitiveness related - ANYTHING.
Thirdly, no matter with IV or QGA does, or anybody does, a bill related to immigration is not going to be tabled on the House or Senate floor BEFORE CIR is officially dead. As long as CIR is even slightly in the picture, an immigration legislation will not be scheduled on Senate or House. That simply is not going to happen even if we hire 100 lobbyists and send million webfaxes. CIR has to go away first before Bill Frist or John Boehner puts another immigration bill on the schedule.
However, if CIR dies, we and other organizations like us will spare no time in making efforts to put something on schedule - from house side or senate side.

I think it is about time for IV to think and make $25/month minimum fee for accessing this site. IV needs money to lobby to sort GC mess out. At the same time we need serious people ready to volunteer and donate. That is the only way out. We do not need people discussing SRK and Vonage on this site. We might reduce website hits by doing this but at least we will have ust have serious members who actually want to volunteer and work for IV.
